Cover image

The cover image centers on an ancient physician unfolding a luminous landscape scroll, transforming the tumor immune microenvironment into a metaphorical “disease fortress” surrounded by red mist and dark, tangled roots.

The cyan guardians, cranes, banners, and flowing light around the fortress symbolize immune forces such as T cells, NK cells, macrophages, and other immune components involved in recognition, infiltration, and regulation within the tumor milieu.

The bamboo slips, silk ribbons, jade ornaments, medicinal flasks, and spatial map represent genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and spatial omics, respectively. These multidimensional data streams converge into the golden compass at the center, symbolizing integrative multi-omics analysis.

Overall, the illustration highlights how systematic characterization of tumor–immune interactions can support patient stratification, therapeutic response prediction, and precision treatment decision-making, reflecting the transition from mechanistic insight to clinical translation in precision oncology.
