Reviewer Guidelines
These guidelines help reviewers provide fair, confidential, and useful assessments for manuscripts submitted to TRM. The planned model is single-blind peer review; reviewers advise the editors, and final editorial decisions are made by the journal.
Before accepting an invitation
- Confirm that the topic falls within your expertise.
- Declare any conflict of interest or recent collaboration.
- Accept only if you can complete the review on time.
- Keep the manuscript and review process confidential.
What reviewers should assess
Methods and evidence
Evaluate study design, population, intervention details, outcomes, statistical analysis, reproducibility, and limitations.
Ethics and reporting
Check ethics approval, informed consent, trial or review registration, adverse events, funding, conflicts, and data availability.
Technology and implementation
For devices, AI, digital rehabilitation, or assistive technology papers, assess validation, usability, safety, explainability, and real-world deployment constraints.
Writing the review report
Reviews should be constructive, specific, and respectful. Separate major issues from minor revisions, and avoid comments that identify you unless open review is explicitly arranged.
Conflicts of interest and AI tools
Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest. AI and confidentiality requirements follow Apex Science Publication's journal framework: reviewers remain responsible for their report, and confidential manuscript text should not be uploaded to public AI tools unless the journal has explicitly approved that workflow.
